Talyah Alpern

Brainspotting Practitioner & Nervous Regulation System Coach

Talyah Alpern is a nervous system regulation coach and Brainspotting practitioner in training with the Lyme Resilience Collective. She provides trauma-informed support for individuals navigating complex chronic illness, with an emphasis on supporting her clients in cultivating embodied safety, compassionate self-trust, and empowerment.

Her work is informed by both professional training and lived experience. Talyah has navigated a long-term chronic illness journey spanning over 20 years, including periods of significant physical limitation. Her healing process informs her deeply attuned, compassionate, holistic and non-pathologizing approach to supporting others in their healing and recovery process.

Talyah integrates somatic (bodymind) practices and nervous system regulation tools to help clients reconnect with their body in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and supportive of long-term healing.

Her background includes certification as a massage therapist through the Santa Barbara Body Therapy Institute (2012), yoga teacher training through Yoga Mandali (2007), somatic movement facilitation training with Hana van der Kolk (2018), and herbalism certification (2015). She studied somatics, dance, and ceramics at Bennington College and is currently completing an integrative life coaching training through Embodylab.

Kristen Mitchell

Community Support Coordinator

Meet Kristen, our Community Support Coordinator at the Lyme Resilience Collective! Kristen greets new members, assists behind the scenes, enages community growth, and provides administrative assistance. She is excited to offer supportive communications to the Collective – a community that she describes as having welcomed her with kindness and warmth amidst her own healing journey with Tick-borne illness.

Kristen is passionate about all people being treated with care and dignity. Those who’ve worked with her say, “she has an ability to walk with others gracefully, no matter their walk of life… I do not see that she will ever meet a stranger.”

In her off-time, she enjoys rest, time with family, writing, painting with little regard for skill, joining disability advocacy movements, and hopefully one day learning to swim!

She’s grateful to be here and honored to walk alongside a community that is reclaiming trust in their bodies and their stories.
